Every two years Potato Demonstration Day is organised by Wageningen University & Research, location Westmaas and the Dutch Potato Organisation (NAO). Potato Demonstration Day is an important meeting place of the potato sector and the event has its focus on the whole of the potato chain. Growers, retail companies, processors and many other potato companies from the Netherlands as well as abroad gather at Potato Demonstration Day to meet and to inform each other about the latest developments in potato business. Potato Demonstration Day is held in Westmaas.
On 19 August 2020 there will be a big indoor exhibition where any potato company can promote its expertise, products or services. The mechanisation park will show the latest developments in potato harvesting and precision farming. The main attraction will be the demonstrations of potato harvesters and storing lines. There will also be potato trial fields and visitors can attend lectures to gather extensive information on important potato subjects. Admission and parking are free.
The 2018 edition of Potato Demonstration Day was visited by 8000 professional visitors. The increasing numbers of exhibitors and visitors have given Potato Demonstration Day an established position in the potato sector over the last decade.
